North Carolina’s U.S. Senators Split on Mercury Pollution
We welcome Senator Hagan’s support today of long overdue limits on mercury and other toxic air pollution from power plants. Today’s Senate vote to uphold the limits on toxic air pollution is good news for American families and infants who are particularly vulnerable to serious harm from mercury.
“By voting to allow toxic air pollution, Senator Burr didn’t support North Carolina’s families and failed to acknowledge North Carolina’s investments in clean air that enable us to meet this new standard at little additional cost.”
